Karanga: The Global Alliance for SEL and Life Skills
Co-founded by The Learner First CEO and Founder Joanne McEachen, Karanga answers the call for a global alliance committed to all students’ academic and social-emotional learning.
Envisioned by Joanne McEachen, Jennifer Adams, Dominic Regester, and Louka Parry while participating in the Salzburg Global Seminar, Karanga’s mission is to inspire and equip practitioners, policy makers, and researchers from across the world to promote quality and equitable social-emotional learning and life skills through initiatives that connect, coordinate, and drive action.
Many organizations have defined a vision for 2030 to evolve teaching and learning in their classrooms, schools, and communities, ensuring that learners are enabled with the skills and dispositions required for the future. Karanga emerged in response to the need to acknowledge that academic skills alone are not enough for learners to be happy and successful in school, work, and life. By connecting educators and policy makers to the knowledge and resources they need to make SEL a reality in their schools, Karanga is leading the way to improved outcomes for students around the world.
